We are proud of the fact that our guides are considered the Best of the Best!
All are very experienced Yellowstone guides, year around residents, with long histories of exploring the outdoors and sharing with others the magic and beauty they've found. Our guides all love kids too, and are experts at making the most of a family outing, whether in the Park or on the water.
This is an incredibly talented group of people with a variety of personal and professional interests, and those that have websites are linked in their bios. Check it out!
Please let us know if you have any questions, and if you've enjoyed your trip with them, send your comments and we'll post them on our page!
Mike Breyers
Arguably the most experienced summer and winter guide to ever set foot in Yellowstone, with close to 30 years of guiding in the Park (true passion!). Find out why Town & Country magazine calls him "one of the best guides in Yellowstone." He's got a passion for the unique beauty of our area, enough so that he is an accomplished painter and photographer in his spare time. Check out his bio and images of spectacularly beautiful Yellowstone thermophiles (critters that survive and thrive in really hot water): Yellowstone Thermophiles (there's also a link to his other site where you can see his paintings at the bottom of the bio page, and more great pics of the park)
Travis & Giselle Hansen
The dynamic duo! Travis is an original and unique Yellowstone personality, and I don't
know of any who can match the depth of his Yellowstone experiences. Born in Bozeman after a quick trip to the hospital from the Norris Geyser Basin, he spent the first years of his life living on the edge of that famous geothermal area with parents who lived and worked in the Park. At the ripe old age of 2 years, he watched one of the few recorded eruptions of Steamboat, the world's largest geyser!
He's been living large ever since, and is one of the most capable and knowledgeable guides in Yellowstone. He's the guy you want to meet if you're lost in the mountains...You'll get home safely, well fed, and with a smile on your face! A West Yellowstone resident since the age of 3, he spends some of our snowy months guiding in Argentina, where he met his match and recently made her his wife.
Giselle was born to guide, literally! Her dad is a fly-fishing guide, and she grew up rowing and fishing the beautiful trout streams in the mountains of Argentina. As she got older, winters were spent getting a college degree while ski-patrolling mountains from Argentina to Andorra and summers were spent showing clients the best of Argentina's trout streams.
Giselle and Travis now have a guide service of their own, Yellowstone Fishing Guides. Travis has learned about the mountains and people of Argentina, while Giselle has acquired the infectious passion for all things Yellowstone shared by all of our guides. Both are fluent English and Spanish speakers as well, which means we have some of the only local residents who are bi-lingual guides in Yellowstone.
They both love to get people out and show them why Yellowstone is such an incredibly special place, whether on one of their fly-fishing tour.s or on one of our private guided tours. I doesn't get any better than this!
Dan Hoskins
New to our crew for 2011, but one of the most knowledgeable and experienced Yellowstone guides you'll find anywhere. Dan grew up in West Yellowstone, Montana, and has spent a lifetime exploring the Park and the surrouding area. A great storyteller with lots to share about his experiences living and working in this larger than life place we call home. Pictures and more on Dan soon!
Joe Moore
Originally from Wisconsin, Joe has been guiding in Yellowstone for over 12 years now, both as a fishing guide and interpretive park guide. He can show your family the Park in a way few others can, and then the next day take those with an inclination for fishing out for the time of their lives fly-fishing for trout. It's amazing how "tuned in'' guides of his ilk are to the entirety of Yellowstone ecology...Once you try flyfishing for big trout, it becomes apparent that you really have to know your environment and every little thing that affects it in order to catch the monsters! Have a look at his bio (and check out the rest of his really sweet website): Big Sky Anglers
Debbie & David Robinson
We are responsible for organizing this business "adventure" called Lava Creek. Hands down, the thing we still enjoy most is the time we spend out guiding and showing folks this amazing place we call home. If you haven't seen it already, you can find out more about us on the Lava Creek website "About Us" page.
